After breakfast, we drive to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. In Agra, you will explore the mighty Agra Fort, a vast riverside complex of exquisite palaces and mosques. Then witness the beauty of the Taj Mahal at sunset.
Day3Agra to JaipurJaipur, India
Today we journey to Jaipur, known as the "Pink City" and where The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was filmed.
On the way, you will visit the magnificent fortified ghost city and UNESCO World Heritage site of Fatehpur Sikri. Built by the great Mughal Akbar, and abandoned in 1585 due to a shortage of water, the well-preserved historical site remains a fascinating place to visit.
Just outside of Jaipur, take high tea at Castle Kanota - the venue for the Viceroy Club in the movie. It's one of Rajasthan's finest heritage properties.
Your chance to discover the lovely city of Jaipur. Explore the Amber Fort, City Palace and Palace of the Winds in the "Pink City" of Jaipur. Amber Fort is the Rajput masterpiece overlooking the city, known for its artistic style and ramparts, gates and cobbled paths. You'll also be able to admire the City Palace and the Palace of the Winds - a high screen-wall built so that the women of the royal household could watch street festivals without themselves being seen.
Then enjoy a relaxing lunch at the Khatu Haveli in Jaipur, as seen in the new BBC Two celebrity documentary series. It has three courtyards and a number of magnificent arches, verandas, galleries and terraces, providing a charming backdrop for your lunch.
Late afternoon and evening are free to enjoy at your leisure: explore the old town's markets and bazaars or simply stroll the lively streets at your own pace.
Dinner this evening will also be at your own choice.
